More than 894 thousand people are included in the voter lists for the elections in the Vitebsk region

Over 894,000 people have been included in the voter lists for the local council elections in the Vitebsk region, Vladimir Myadelets, chairman of the regional election commission, told a BELTA correspondent. Polling stations are fully ready for the elections. Precinct commissions have been provided with telephone communication, voter lists have been updated, and stands with information about candidate deputies have been set up. Today, on the eve of the start of early voting, ballots have been delivered to the polling stations, and the premises have been placed under round-the-clock security by law enforcement agencies. Residents of the region will be able to exercise their right to vote at 923 polling stations, including 876 stations ready to receive voters for early voting. Early voting can be done from April 20-24 from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00. Precinct commissions will post information on the progress of early voting on stands daily. The election campaign in the region is proceeding calmly and in accordance with the election code. Over 3,700 candidate deputies have been registered. During the campaign period, 18 candidates withdrew their candidacies, 12 of whom were running for the regional council of deputies. Candidates are holding meetings with voters, including mass events organized on a notification basis in designated areas. In the Vitebsk region, 3,530 deputies are to be elected, including 60 for the regional council, 713 for district councils, 195 for city councils of cities of regional and district subordination, as well as 2,562 for primary level councils (rural and settlement). -0-
