Vitebsk region plans to earn over Br1 million during the republican subbotnik
Almost 300,000 residents of the region will join the republican event. Teams will work at their workplaces, and will also be involved in landscaping territories and facilities in settlements, and historical and cultural values. Memorial complexes, places of military glory, and burial sites of soldiers and partisans of the Great Patriotic War will be put in order after winter. For example, in the Dubrovno district, a labor event will take place at the Rylенки memorial complex, in Ushachi - at "Proрыв", in Dokshitsy - at "Shunevka". The labor contingent of the Vitebsk region will also work on the adjacent territories of children's health camps.
In Novopolotsk, the main efforts will be directed towards tidying up the floodplain of the Western Dvina. The city's deputy corps, together with representatives of the BRSM, will work in the area of Lake Lyukhovo. In Polotsk, the main sites of the subbotnik will be the Mound of Immortality, where student teams will go, and both banks of the Western Dvina. Tree planting is also planned as part of the "Hero Tree" campaign.
Special attention will be paid to the landscaping of streets, squares, and more. Residents of Orsha will plant lindens and maples in the park of family trees, and will be involved in landscaping facilities and territories of settlements, and forest belts near residential areas. One of the significant sites will be the military burial ground on Proletarskaya Street, where about 30,000 people are buried. Forest planting is also planned in the Bolbasovo forestry of the Orsha district.
All funds earned will be directed by the region to the capital repair with modernization and elements of restoration of the Khatyn memorial complex. The republican subbotnik, timed to the Year of Historical Memory, is scheduled for April 16.
