This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Elena Andreykova, head of the representative office of the "Vitebsk Regional Department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population". Br534.4 million has been allocated from state social security funds for the preparation of facilities to receive children, and Br960 million from the regional budget. In addition, more than Br2 billion earned during the republican subbotnik will be directed to these purposes. The main part of the sum from the latter source of funding will be used to strengthen the material and technical base of the "Vityaz" camp, which the joint-stock company of the same name is transferring to communal ownership. In the near future, a program will be developed for the development of this camp in order to make it the best in the region and the republic. A total of 35 stationary camps with round-the-clock stays will operate in the region this summer, which will receive 24,000 children and adolescents during the season, as well as 630 day camps. 31,000 boys and girls will rest in the latter. The preparation of the camps is already underway. Their acceptance is scheduled for the last ten days of May, and the camps will receive the first children from June 3.
