Last year, the Polotsk dairy plant more than doubled its export volumes compared to 2020.

Last year, the plant processed 127 thousand tons of raw materials. Throughout the year, the capacity utilization rate grew from 52.4% in January to 105.1% in June and 102.2% in September. In 2021, the plant produced more butter, whole milk, and dry milk products than usual.

In 2021, products worth $29 million were exported, compared to $12 million in 2020. "Today, almost all of our products are shipped abroad, however, dry milk products (63%) and butter (28%) account for the largest share. Currently, shipments are made to 22 countries. The largest volumes are supplied to Russia, Kazakhstan, and China. In early October last year, products were shipped to the UAE for the first time, and a repeat shipment of dry milk to this country is currently underway. In the near future, shipments of dry milk to Saudi Arabia and Lebanon are also planned. In December, Japan, Jordan, Oman, and Yemen were added to the list of export destinations," the enterprise reported. This year, the plant intends to surpass last year's performance.

Open Joint Stock Company "Polotsk dairy plant" has been operating since 1944. It is one of the largest producers of dairy products (dry milk, butter, whole milk substitute, whole milk products, glazed curd snacks), processing about 15% of all milk in the Vitebsk region. The plant includes the head enterprise in Polotsk and an agricultural organization in the Rossony district. The plant's annual capacity allows for processing 155 thousand tons of milk. About 1.1 thousand people work here. Today, the enterprise produces over 80 types of products under the brands "Safiyka" and "Mi-Shu". The plant's most famous product is glazed curd snacks.
