More than a dozen charity events will be held in December by activists of the BRSM in the Vitebsk region, the regional committee of the NGO "Belarusian Republican Youth Union" informed a BELTA correspondent.
Charity marathons and events will be organized in the pre-holiday days for orphans and children left without parental care, children with disabilities, children from large and low-income families, troubled teenagers, veterans, and lonely elderly citizens in each district and city of the region.
For example, activists of most city and district committees of the BRSM in the region gladly hold the annual traditional event "Miracles for Christmas," during which they prepare congratulations and gifts for pupils of orphanages and social pedagogical centers. This event is organized on the largest scale, with the support of city authorities, enterprises, organizations, and public associations, in Orsha. In Braslav, the "Christmas Marathon" will bring together children registered with juvenile inspection commissions. Sports competitions with the awarding of sweet prizes and certificates await the children. In Dubrovno, volunteers of the "Kind Heart" movement are preparing a New Year's entertainment program for troubled teenagers and children with disabilities attending the district territorial center for social services to the population. In the Gluboksky district, participants of the "With Hope in the Heart" event will visit veterans of the Great Patriotic War, congratulate them on the holidays, and present gifts and souvenirs, and during the "Dreams Come True" event, they will try to fulfill the wishes expressed by children with disabilities in letters to Santa Claus. In Vitebsk, on December 14, the second city rally of volunteer detachments of BRSM organizations "On the Road of Kindness" will take place.
"These are just a few examples of the events that members of the youth organization will hold in December in the Vitebsk region. And they are united by one goal - to give a festive mood, a piece of warmth and care to all those who especially need it on the eve of Christmas and New Year," the regional committee of the BRSM emphasized.
