More than half of bankruptcies in the Vitebsk region in January-September were initiated by debtor enterprises
October 14, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA /. The number of insolvency (bankruptcy) statements received by the Economic Court of the Vitebsk region in January-September decreased by 2% compared to the same period in 2009 and amounted to 120. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Olga Kibisova, head of the court's judicial practice department.
A total of 79 statements were accepted for proceedings, including 17 statements on the insolvency of individual entrepreneurs. Of the total number of accepted statements, creditors initiated bankruptcy proceedings in approximately 44% of cases, with the remaining statements filed by the debtor enterprises themselves. Among creditors, tax authorities showed the greatest activity, with 11 proceedings initiated based on their applications in this category of cases.
As of October this year, the economic court had 132 insolvency (bankruptcy) cases under proceedings, 10 of which were initiated against state-owned enterprises or those with a share of state ownership. The vast majority of bankruptcy cases were considered against private enterprises (75% of the total number in this category), and another 17% against individual entrepreneurs. In addition, the court has 8 bankruptcy cases involving enterprises with foreign investment.
One state-owned enterprise (KUPP "Vitteks"), declared insolvent, is undergoing rehabilitation. Bankruptcy proceedings have been initiated against 32 enterprises and individual entrepreneurs.
Liquidation proceedings have been opened against 96 business entities, of which about 90% are private enterprises and individual entrepreneurs. By court decision, 9 state-owned enterprises or those with a share of state ownership have been declared bankrupt and are subject to liquidation - these are OJSC "Polotsk Meat Processing Plant", OJSC "Vitebsk Brewery", OJSC "Orsha Brewery", OJSC "Dizna Canning Plant", RUPP "Megom", UDP "Postavy Canning Plant", communal agricultural enterprise "Lioznenskoye", communal production enterprise "Tolochin Textile Factory", communal unitary specialized repair and technical enterprise "Medik". For 19 cases, the liquidation period exceeds 18 months. The main reasons for extending liquidation periods are the presence of unrealized property of bankrupts, as well as the need to bring responsible persons to subsidiary liability. -0-
