More than half of the vegetables from the greenhouses of OJSC "Rudakovo" are exported
The products of the Rudakovo OJSC greenhouse complex have long earned a reputation among consumers and have become a true brand not only for the Vitebsk region but for the entire oblast.
There is no seasonality in production here. Thanks to its own combined heat and power plant with two cogeneration units, vegetables are grown both in winter and summer. Today, the complex has highly economical energy-saving greenhouses covering 18 hectares. They grow cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, dill, parsley, basil, and arugula. In the first six months of 2014, 3.8 thousand tons of cucumbers, 1.7 thousand tons of tomatoes, and 24 tons of greens were supplied to consumers' tables. Revenue amounted to 86.3 billion rubles. Vegetables from Rudakovo are sold in Vitebsk and the region, but a significant part (almost 60%) is exported. Currently, the greenhouse complex is experimenting with growing small-fruited tomatoes (plum and cherry varieties), so soon customers will be able to taste these types of products as well.
