More than half of the candidates for a deputy mandate in the Vitebsk region have been nominated by parties

In the Vitebsk region, 97 people have submitted documents to register as candidates for deputies of the House of Representatives in 14 electoral districts, of which almost 58% were nominated by political parties, the regional election commission informed a BELTA correspondent.

At this stage of the election campaign, an average of 7 people are vying for one deputy mandate from the Vitebsk region. This is higher than in all previous elections, and the competitiveness has increased due to the growing number of contenders wishing to run for parliament in rural districts. Almost 85% of the contenders chose to be nominated in one of the three possible ways. In particular, 14 initiative groups submitted signatures in support of their candidacies, and political parties are delegating 55 activists to parliament through the districts in the Vitebsk region. In addition, 15 contenders used a dual nomination method: by citizens through signature collection and by labor collectives (14 people), by citizens and political parties (1).

Representatives of 8 party organizations are vying for deputy mandates from the Vitebsk region.
