More than a thousand students are in the database of talented youth of the Vitebsk region

May 28, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The database of talented and gifted youth of the Vitebsk region includes 1061 students. This was announced today at the ceremony honoring the winners of international and republican subject Olympiads by the head of the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Ivan Shchurok, reports a BELTA correspondent. Year after year, talented schoolchildren of the Vitebsk region demonstrate a high level of knowledge and preparation at international and republican Olympiads, emphasized Ivan Shchurok. For example, in 2010, they managed to win 90 diplomas at republican subject Olympiads, and in 2009, they brought 4 out of 25 diplomas won by representatives of our country at international competitions to Belarus's award collection. However, to achieve success, not only a capable student is needed, but also a talented teacher, noted the head of the education department. The Vitebsk region has them. Today, some of them are present at the ceremony - 62 teachers who prepared the winning students. Each of them deserves the highest praise and gratitude for their work. At the same time, the entire personnel potential of the region's educational institutions can be noted, believes Ivan Shchurok. In particular, 91% of teachers working in the region have higher education. 77.5% have the highest and first qualification categories. Only 11% of teachers have no qualification. These are mainly young specialists. -0-
