September 10, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. More than Br160 billion has been allocated in the Vitebsk region for the implementation of the Year of the Native Land events, the chairman of the regional committee for natural resources and environmental protection, Ruslan Vinokurov, informed at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee today.
More than Br125 billion of the total amount was spent on the improvement of cities and villages, as well as automobile and railway facilities. 99 benchmark improvement facilities have been created in the region, 27 recreation areas have been equipped, and almost 400 unauthorized landfills have been identified and eliminated. Agricultural enterprises have tidied up all 299 machine yards and 80% of grain drying complexes. 478 hectares of vacant land near agricultural facilities have been plowed. In accordance with the regional program "Clean Fields," technical work has been carried out on an area of almost 14 thousand hectares to create optimal field contours. 27 parking lots and rest areas have been created on highways.
At the same time, out of 37 program measures, annual targets have been met for 28. The assigned tasks for the reconstruction and restoration of land reclamation systems have not been implemented, violations related to the unsatisfactory maintenance of highway rights-of-way, untimely cleaning of parking lots and recreation areas are constantly being identified, and insufficient work is being done to clear areas of Sosnowsky hogweed. The municipal waste management system does not fully ensure the prevention of unauthorized landfills - housing and communal services organizations are carrying out waste removal from 2115 settlements, which is 34% of their total number. Municipal waste sorting stations are operating inefficiently. -0-
