Most of the assignments during the direct line at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee concerned housing and communal services

The majority of the directives issued during the direct line with the public by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, concerned the elimination of shortcomings in the work of housing and communal services.

All city and district executive committees were connected to the direct line via conference call, so some applicants were able to receive answers immediately, while others were convinced that instructions had been given and deadlines set for their appeals. For example, residents of house No. 4 on Uritsky Street in Vitebsk heard a clear answer that the balconies of their house would be restored in September of this year, and a special project is being prepared for this. In another house in Vitebsk - No. 23 on Voini-Internatsionalistov Street - the wall joints will be sealed at the beginning of next week, and residents of the high-rise building at Gagarin Street, 88 will receive hot water by the heating season.

"Get used to giving people a concrete answer about what and when will be done, and keep your word," Nikolai Sherstnev addressed all representatives of departments and services and local leaders. The reaction to the call from a resident of Barani, Orsha District, who is concerned about the plans of the local housing and communal services enterprise to move the settlement and passport center from Barani to Orsha, was immediate. Nikolai Sherstnev assured that this would not be done under any circumstances. The governor gave clear instructions on two transport issues: the bus route will be extended to 5th Line Street in Vitebsk, and in the agro-town of Virovlya, Gorodok District, the route bus will make two stops. He also obliged the leadership of Vitebsk District to repair the road to the cemetery in the village of Kosachi, clear the weeds there, and remove dangerous old trees. A call from Novopolotsk from a person concerned about the fate of the hockey club "Khimik" actualized a topic that, in the governor's opinion, needs to be raised at the republican level and voiced at the All-Belarusian People's Assembly. Previously, the club was financed by OJSC "Naftan", but for two years now, the allocation of funds has ceased. Nikolai Sherstnev explained that a decision was made that the profit tax of petrochemical enterprises goes entirely to the republican budget. The region has to solve the problems of the enterprise and related issues.

"Therefore, we will propose to return the profit tax at least in a 50/50 proportion," - the head of the region explained. He added that specific negotiations are already underway with the concern "Belneftekhim" regarding HC "Khimik" to adopt either a temporary solution or to close the club altogether. During the direct line with the chairman of the regional executive committee today, 25 calls were received, mainly from Vitebsk, Orsha, and the Orsha district. The majority of the appeals concerned the housing and communal services sector, housing privatization, and registration. There were also requests for help in difficult life situations. Instructions have been given on all facts, and the fulfillment of obligations to people has been taken under control.
