More than 60 percent of grain and leguminous crops to the plan have been sown by farmers in the Lepel and Chashniki districts

Больше 60 процентов зерновых и зернобобовых к плану засеяли хлеборобы Лепельского и Чашникского районов

More than half of the areas allocated for these crops have been sown in Beshenkovichi and Glubokoe districts. While the region already accounts for a third of the spring grain acreage, farmers in Braslav, Liozno, Miory, Postavy, Sennno, Sharkovshchina, and Shumilino districts are lagging far behind the leaders.

The main reason for the slow sowing pace there is the aftermath of a long snowy winter. In some places, fields have only just been freed from meltwater, while in others, the soil has not had time to "ripen" under the spring winds and sun. By yesterday morning, 34.4 thousand hectares out of the 82.4 allocated for spring plowing had been turned over by plows. Over 11 thousand hectares have been prepared for seeders. The tight deadlines of the current sowing campaign necessitate sowing almost all spring crops simultaneously with the grain group, while also intensively fertilizing winter crops. This year's "late" spring has shown that there are more than eight tasks for autumn.
