Most trade facilities in the Vitebsk region must be equipped with an alarm system - A. Kosinets

February 11, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. In the Vitebsk region, most retail outlets must be equipped with alarm systems. This task was set for the heads of local authorities and law enforcement agencies by the chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Kosinets, today during a coordination meeting on the issue of preventing drunkenness, crimes and other offenses, according to a BELTA correspondent. According to the chairman of the regional executive committee, numerous offenses related to theft or damage to property occur daily in retail outlets. This problem is particularly acute in rural areas, where shops are often not guarded by watchmen or are not equipped with alarm systems. At the same time, facts of guards being in a state of intoxication at their workplace, and malfunctions of equipment that triggers an alarm signal are quite often recorded, which is what those who seek easy money take advantage of. "Therefore, by July 1, it is necessary to check the operability or equip most retail outlets with alarm systems, including 100% of such facilities in the response zone of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' security department units," the governor demanded. According to the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the regional average for retail outlets within the response zone of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' security department units is 47%. At the same time, it is highest in Dokshitsky, Miorsky and Tolochinsky districts, and the lowest in Braslavsky, Sennensky and Lepelsky districts. -0-
