Boris Efremov positively assessed the results of the agricultural year in the Vitebsk region
Boris Efremov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, positively assessed the results of the concluded agricultural year in the Vitebsk region. He shared his assessment today at a ceremonial meeting of workers in agriculture and the processing industry of the region's agro-industrial complex:
- Perhaps not everything planned has been achieved. The year can be better or worse. But overall, I rate the work of our agro-industrial complex as 4+ (on a five-point scale – editor's note). Serious tasks are set to increase all gross indicators, load the processing industry, ensure food security, and earn on foreign markets. The agricultural producers of the Vitebsk region have everything they need – strength, skills, and desire. It remains to make a little more effort to achieve the set goals.

Boris Efremov emphasized that the region's agricultural producers have made good progress for the next year's harvest. 253 thousand tons of winter cereals and 78 thousand tons of winter cruciferous crops have been sown. As of November 19, almost 200 thousand hectares of fallow land have been plowed:
- Therefore, provided that the crops overwinter successfully, we will have a significant share of winter cereals in the total harvest.

To meet the needs of public animal husbandry and ensure food security, the workers of the northern region of the country need to have 1.1 million tons of grain. The Vitebsk region plans to reach this figure in 2022, noted the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee. At the same time, the main directions of work for the entire industry for the next year have already been determined. In particular, it is necessary to improve the stocks of forage grasses and corn. The reconstruction of residential facilities will continue.livestock facilities to concentrate livestock in prepared areas. This approach will ensure their proper maintenance and care, as well as balance the workload for employees.

The award ceremony for workers of agriculture and the processing industry of the agro-industrial complex of the region took place at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The warmest wishes and congratulations to the participants of the event were addressed by the Aide to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich and member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Irina Polyakova. Similar events with the participation of the regional leadership are being held these days in all districts of the region.
