Braslavryba will supply its products to the Russian market until 2017
Enterprises, like people, have their own destinies. Some work steadily throughout their history, developing and increasing production volumes, while others are tossed about as if on the waves of the sea in a storm. The latter category includes the staff of the current branch of the Glubokoye Condensed Milk Plant "Braslavryba". More than anyone else in the region, it has experienced the consequences of market relations, re-profiling, subordination and re-subordination, rising and falling. And each time it tried to survive, to stay afloat. Now, after the last such fall, when only a brigade of fish processors remained at the enterprise, the team is once again raising its head, developing new types of products, striving to reduce their cost, finding markets for canned goods, and modernizing production as much as possible. But everything in its turn.
– Our main wealth is people,– the first thing I heard from the enterprise management. People are interested in preserving the enterprise, because despite various collisions, they did not leave, and endured all the hardships together. Among them is Aldona Petrushkevich, who 40 years ago, after school, came to work at the then fish farm as a fish processor. And today, having earned the right to retire, she continues to do this work, not yielding to young workers. The length of service of processors Zhanna Panteleyko, Olga Lysova, laboratory head Liliya Shulga, and others is measured in decades. Half of the staff are veterans by age, and half are new employees who are successfully mastering the profession. Among them, locksmith Dmitry Morozov has distinguished himself recently. In a short period, the worker has grown from the third to the fifth grade, can independently repair any mechanism on the processing lines, for which he was awarded an Honorary Diploma of the District Executive Committee on the eve of the professional holiday.
The balance of experience and energy makes the enterprise professionally strong, focused on one goal – to achieve stability in work.
The team of "Braslavryba" has another characteristic that directly and vividly reflects its activity and unity. Not a single district mass event takes place without its participation. At the tourist rally, on "Mushroom Picker's Day" in the forest, at sports competitions, on the stage of the RDC, the enterprise's team is always among the first. Perhaps this is why the doubts of the HR department about the difficulty of forming a third fish processing brigade did not come true. Many Braslav residents responded to the announcement. At the beginning of December, a new team of 23 people started working. Now, recruitment for the fourth team is underway.
Such rapid changes have been occurring here since autumn. Consumers of Braslav canned goods have been found in the Russian market, with whom a supply contract has been concluded until September 1, 2017. According to the documents, the price for them will be determined based on the market situation on the day of shipment of each batch.
And here are new canned goods made from pieces of salmon, trout, and char, which the Russian side is ready to buy at a million cans per month. And in addition to them, there are also traditional "Sprats in tomato sauce".
By the way, the technical specifications for the production of new types of products were developed in the enterprise's laboratory. Technologist Elena Bartkun, an excellent specialist and responsible person, is engaged in this important work. She is credited with dozens of technical specifications, for some of which a certificate of conformity has already been obtained, including for sprats with apples, and carp and lake fish in jelly... Elena is particularly proud that the labels of their canned goods do not contain components with "E", as they are produced using traditional technology without the use of flavor enhancers, colorants, and preservatives.
"The very same taste" is about us," she says.
The enterprise is ready to produce up to 60 new types of canned goods, abandoning unpopular ones and increasing the production of those in demand by the buyer. Today, these are products made from red fish. In November, 460,000 cans were shipped to Russia, and 600,000 are planned for December.
The marketing department constantly monitors market trends and studies the experience of acquiring new markets for product sales by Baltic neighbors. A trial batch of sprats has been sent to the relevant department to obtain the right to issue. According to laboratory employees, they turned out to be no worse than Baltic and Russian ones.
Among the positive changes is the modernization of production. Two sealing machines and a sauce dispenser are successfully operated, reported the head of production Olga Borovik. Modern autoclaves have been assembled and are awaiting their time. Here they hope that even more will be produced in 2015.
There are significant shifts in reducing product inventory. Specialists believe that next year they will ensure a positive foreign trade balance.
