The city is eagerly awaiting its birthday, which will be solemnly and widely celebrated on June 6-7.

The upcoming "Braslavskie Zarnitsy" festival will be dedicated to the anniversary. This is a celebration of traditional culture, held for the 48th time, but for the first time it will be international. Official delegations, vocal and dance ensembles from Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Azerbaijan, India, Russia, and Poland will arrive for the festivities.

The festival will kick off on Saturday, June 6, at the square near the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Then, the "Braslav Choral Assembly" will take over – a regional review competition, held for the fourth time. Over 20 choral ensembles from the Vitebsk region will showcase their skills. The assembly, dedicated to the 950th anniversary of the city, is significant because an unprecedented number of participants – 800 singers! – will perform in the combined choir. This was announced by Elena Kotova, Deputy Head of the Department of Ideological Work, Culture, and Youth Affairs of the District Executive Committee.

For the first time, a tournament of Belarusian folk dances will be held as part of the choral assembly.

After that, the epicenter of the celebration will move to the ancient settlement. A real medieval town will be set up there. About ten knight clubs from Belarus and the Baltic states are expected to attend the "Mech Brachislava" festival. Team battles, musical performances, ancient fire-making, an acrobatic show, a stilt-walker procession, participant awards, a torchlight procession, and fireworks will take place on Zamkovaya Hill. The winner of the battles will receive the sword of Bryachislav.

On June 7, the main festive events, including a gala concert, presentation of farmsteads, and folk festivals, will be held in the Lesnichyevka forest park.
