Braslav has already begun preparations for the "Dazhynki-2019" festival.
While "Dazhynki-2018" are still ahead, Braslav has already begun preparations for next year's harvest festival. Here, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, and with the participation of the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, the first working meeting was held to determine the strategy for the improvement of the city, and primarily the coastal strip that separates the residential area from Lake Drivyaty. This is the favorite recreation spot for Braslav residents and their numerous guests, and the main events of "Dazhynki-2019" will unfold there.
Representatives of UP "Vitebskzhilproekt" presented the "Brukavka" recreation area improvement project for discussion. The Chairman of the Braslav District Executive Committee, Vladimir Dranevsky, shared his vision based on the experience of operating water and coastal facilities.
During the discussion, representatives of the authorities and managers agreed that the project proposed by the architects, with the additions made to it, should be implemented, and in stages. As Nikolai Sherstnev noted, Braslav should have infrastructure that makes the city particularly attractive to guests.
The project envisages the construction of several new piers, specially equipped swimming areas, including for competitions, an offshore fountain, and a floating beach, gazebos, and new retail outlets.
Areas for sports, walking and cycling along the lake, observation decks, and a stage have been designated. The stage will be used for "Dazhynki" and later for concerts, including the "Viva Braslav!" festival. The territory around the bus station is promised to become more beautiful and functional.
In the opposite direction, near the entrance to the city, a campsite is planned. Secondary School No. 2 presented its developments for changing the appearance of the building and the schoolyard.
The Braslav improvement project is not cheap. Therefore, Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized, in addition to budget funds, the district needs to seek investors.
Everything that can be done by their own efforts, Braslav residents are already implementing. The beach cafe is expanding its area, work has begun near the bus station, and on Saturday, heads and representatives of various district structures planted about 300 young pines along the shore of Dryvyaty. In the Year of Small Motherland, the residents of the region strive to make it even more beautiful.
