Braslav doctors will implement methods of traditional Chinese medicine

In Braslav, they plan to implement methods of Chinese folk medicine in the treatment of diseases of the nervous system and musculoskeletal system, as reported by the chief physician of the Braslav Central District Hospital, Alexander Makarevich.

According to him, a delegation from the Chinese province of Hubei visited the district at the end of last week. The delegation included heads of the Specialized Institute of Chinese Folk Medicine of this province and the Jinzhou Hospital of Chinese Traditional Medicine. During the meeting, guests from the Celestial Empire familiarized themselves with the multi-level system of medical care in Belarus and specialist training using the Braslav hospital as an example. They visited the surgical, outpatient, pediatric, and dental departments of the hospital and conducted master classes on acupuncture and massage.

"The main result of the meeting was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Braslav Central District Hospital and the Hubei Institute of Folk Medicine, which opens up the possibility for us to establish close partnerships," emphasized Alexander Makarevich.

The parties intend to conduct joint research and educational projects. Based on mutual wishes and leveraging their strengths, they will organize training courses for their partners. A separate area of cooperation will be mutual training in the field of traditional medicine. "In this regard, we are considering the possibility of organizing a rehabilitation department at our hospital, where manual therapy and acupuncture methods will be practiced. Our Chinese colleagues will help us master them. In conjunction with drug treatment, they will provide a significant positive effect in the treatment of diseases of the nervous system and musculoskeletal system," added the chief physician.

As reported by the Braslav District Executive Committee, the district's partnerships with the PRC are currently actively developing in various fields. This summer, a group of Chinese teachers visited Braslav and taught local schoolchildren the basics of their language and calligraphy. In cooperation with Jinren Chinese-European Culture LLC in Beijing, a representative office of the Braslav District has been established, and a website in Chinese has been launched to promote the district's tourism and economic potential. In November, local authorities intend to sign a cooperation agreement with the leadership of the city of Jinzhou.
