Domestic car tourism may become the main trend of the year

In Europe, they say it directly: domestic car tourism may become the main trend of the year.

Firstly, no one can guarantee that booked flights to hot countries won't be canceled. Secondly, let's recall what happened in the winter when vacationers simply couldn't return from resorts. And finally, there's no place like our native land, right?

I agree. Especially after the report by Nadezhda Serbinenko. She traveled to the north of the country. To a place where there are almost 300 lakes in a small area and a special climate, similar to the Baltic states, has been established.

How has Braslav changed in recent years, and how much does a lake alternative to the seaside cost? Let's find out now.

We're starting this report a bit unusually. Our film crew has already left Makayonka, 9 – and we're embarking on a very interesting journey. It's already clear to everyone that vacationing abroad this year will be difficult, but our country also has interesting places where, I'm sure, many have never been before.

Summer 2020 promises to be an unusual season for domestic tourism

According to experts, summer 2020 promises to be an unusual season for domestic tourism. And is Braslav ready for the influx of Belarusians? We asked Alexander Bodanin, the chairman of the district executive committee.

Alexander Bodanin, Chairman of the Braslav District Executive Committee: "Last yearper year - 14 thousand tourists, of whom only 2 thousand are foreigners. The key issue was catering. Now we have reoriented. Prices and assortment have been revised. And today the total number of seats is 900."

We arrived at the private cafe owner Alexander's in the village of Strusto. He will tell us how he created his business.

Alexander Shakel, cafe owner: "This was an old house, I did the reconstruction. We have homemade food. There is beautiful nature here, good people, everything needed to develop tourism."

In general, there are more options for budget tourists in the Braslav region. One of these types of recreation is tourist campsites. Here you can have an eco-holiday in nature. Usually, the campsite has a gazebo, a place to sleep, and a pier.

Mikhail Chichko, General Director of the National Park "Braslav Lakes": "3 buildings. The rooms are very different - from economy to luxury. There is catering, a bathhouse, a restaurant - everything you need for recreation."

The National Park offers another accommodation option - at its own recreation center.

Mikhail Chichko, General Director of the National Park "Braslav Lakes": "We have over 70 reservoirs and plus fish. 13% of the territory is water bodies - a great wealth."

And in the Braslav district, there is a place that attracts tourists from all over the world - the farmstead "Edishki". Here, the Abramov family is engaged in rural entrepreneurship and agritourism.

Andrey Abramov, rural entrepreneur: "The hotel business is something else. People come here for emotions. The price? 109 rubles for a cottage. This includes a bathhouse, handmade linen, horseback riding, boats, spinning, a farm tour, and farm work - at your விருப்பம்."

Alexander Bodanin, Chairman of the Braslav District Executive Committee: "We live in Belarus and for some reason look for happiness somewhere far away. To explore the Braslav region, life may not be enough, but to fall in love with it, one hour is enough."
