Braslav Lakes and the Yalnya reserve have been included in the top attractions of Belarus's first tourist portal

Recently, the National Tourism Agency launched the first official tourism portal of Belarus, belarus.travel – a new information internet product designed to help plan a trip to our republic, tell about popular attractions and little-known but interesting places in Belarus, so that not only foreigners but also Belarusians themselves learn more about the country.

It should be noted that the Vitebsk region is presented with dignity on the new tourist portal, filled with colorful photographs and touching patriotic calls such as "Get inspired by Belarus," "A country of pleasant surprises, unexpected discoveries, and warm memories." For example, out of the eight natural attractions of Belarus, four are located in our region. Thus, travel enthusiasts are recommended to visit the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve, which thousands of tourists visit annually to see how the lady's slipper orchid blooms, how the marsh meadows shimmer, and also to hear how the local frogs croak in perfect unison.

The top attractions also include one of the largest raised bogs in Europe – Yelnya, the Braslav Lakes, which include 74 picturesque reservoirs, and the "Blue Lakes" natural complex, which has the status of a key botanical territory of Belarus.

And in the "Unique Excursions" section, which currently presents only four excursions, Vitebsk region offers two. These are "Beaver Safari" from the Braslav Lakes National Park, which can be either a real pursuit in search of river builders or a leisurely canoe trip-observation. And walks through the swamp in the Yelnya заказник. "Put on swamp shoes, and the swamp will be knee-deep," says the tourist portal.

– Belarus has a lot of potential, but, unfortunately, often local residents themselves do not see it, – explained the National Agency the idea of creating a tourist portal. – Our main task is to motivate people to start traveling. There are a huge number of interesting things in Belarus, you just need to help them notice.
