Brest actors will bring four performances to Vitebsk
In mid-April, the Brest Academic Drama Theater will come to Vitebsk for guest performances. Over four days, the theater troupe will present four performances on the stage of the Vitebsk Drama Theater.
The guest performances will begin with a classic. On April 15, spectators will see the tragedy
"The Bridge" based on the story by Vasil Bykov, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. 70 years is a respectable age, an age of wisdom, when we can already move away from imposed clichés and try to look at the events of past years objectively. Why did some residents of the same village go to the partisans, while others went to the police? Is such a choice always conscious? And how would we ourselves act in a similar situation? But Bykov is not a moralist. He tries to understand both conflicting sides. The performance begins at 19:00.On April 16, a farce performance awaits us:
"The Dear Pamela" based on the play by John Patrick, which has long been considered a classic of world drama. Three swindlers, fleeing from police pursuit, end up in the house of a quirky old lady, Pamela Kronky. And then a brilliant idea comes to their minds: to insure Pamela, arrange an accident, and get the insurance money. But, having entered the atmosphere of this strange house, the criminals, without intending to, begin to change. "The Game of Love and Chance", which will be shown in Vitebsk on April 17 and 18. Silvia's father, Mr. Orgon, learns that his old friend's son is coming to his house to meet his daughter. Silvia, wanting to get to know Dorante better, decides to switch places with her maid Lisette. But Silvia's carefully thought-out plan is not destined to come true, as Dorante switches places with his servant, Harlequin.
