BRSM initiated the youth movement "I Love You, Life!"
March 18, Minsk / Yulia Vanina - BELTA /. The Belarusian Republican Youth Union has initiated a new youth movement "I Love You, Life!". This was announced today at a press conference in Minsk by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRYU, Igor Buzovsky, according to a BELTA correspondent.
According to Igor Buzovsky, this BRYU movement is aimed at forming a fashion for a healthy lifestyle, and preventing tobacco, alcohol, and drug addiction. It should unite those who believe that personal health, as well as the health of their family and friends, are very important value orientations.
The initiative for such a movement came from the primary organization of the BRYU in the Vitebsk region. Today, it is supported by all territorial organizations of the youth union, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Education, and the public have joined the initiative.
Answering a question from a BELTA correspondent, Igor Buzovsky said that the movement is designed for all ages. The slogan "I Love You, Life!" should become mandatory not only for young people. "Adults, pensioners - everyone must take care of their health and lead an active, positive lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle should be instilled from kindergarten," the youth leader is confident. As examples of holding events and activities dedicated to the healthy lifestyle movement, Igor Buzovsky cited such projects and programs as the "Golden Puck" ice hockey competitions, "Leather Ball" football competitions, "Swift Ball" handball competitions, various sports festivals, hiking and tourist rallies, healthy lifestyle festivals, "Books Against Tobacco" campaigns, "I'll Swap a Cigarette for a Candy," "No Smoking!", "Ditch the Cigarette," "Anti-Tobacco Landing Party," and many others.
To achieve the greatest effect from individual programs and projects of the BRYU and other public associations and government structures that promote a healthy lifestyle, it has been decided to unite into a single movement and build coordinated systematic work.
As emphasized at the press conference by the Head of the Prevention Department of the Main Department of Law Enforcement and Prevention of the Public Security Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Roman Melnik, the first steps of joint work have already been taken. Thus, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the BRYU invite young people to take part in the "Together for Safety and Law and Order" campaign. Within its framework, a series of sports events in team and extreme sports will be held with the participation of troubled teenagers. In addition, checks will be carried out at public recreation areas for young people to prevent and detect cases of alcohol and drug use by minors. And on March 22, another project "Streets Without Alcohol" will be launched, the goal of which is to form conscious law-abiding behavior in children and youth, as well as to inform about new requirements of anti-alcohol legislation, in particular, the consumption of low-alcohol beverages and beer in public places. -0-
