The BRSM of the Vitebsk region will present amulets with ornaments to newborns
The "Vyshyvanka Day" festival will be held in Belarus on July 2. An event dedicated to the holiday is planned in the Vitebsk region, as reported by Viktor Glushin, the First Secretary of the regional committee of the BRSM.
In particular, on June 30, activists of the Pervomaysky district organization of the BRSM in Vitebsk will meet young mothers at the exit of City Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 2 with Belarusian songs and poems. In honor of the new addition to the family, they will be presented with souvenirs with elements of Belarusian ornament, made by the hands of young artisans of the district.
On July 2 itself, the initiative will be taken up in Novopolotsk and Postavy, where local leadership, public organizations, and creative youth groups will also participate in the event. In Glubokoye, babies will be solemnly welcomed with gifts bearing Belarusian symbols on July 5 and 6. "Since ancient times, Belarusians embroidered clothes with a characteristic ornament, turning them into a kind of amulet, which over time became a symbol of the nation. We want such a symbol to protect every little Belarusian from birth. Our Independence Day souvenir gifts carry this very message," explained Viktor Glushin. As reported by BELTA, a new tradition is being established in Belarus - holding the youth festival "Vyshyvanka Day" on the eve of Independence Day. Its main events will take place on July 2 from 12:00 to 23:00 at the site near the Palace of Sports in Minsk.
