"Pooserye Bouquet" will gather folk craftsmen of the Vitebsk region in Orsha
The regional festival of historical and cultural values, folklore and rare crafts "Bouquet of Pooserye" will be held today in Orsha, Lyudmila Vakar, leading methodologist in ethnography and folklore of the regional methodological center of folk art, Candidate of Art History, told a BELTA correspondent.
The program includes an exhibition-fair of works by folk craftsmen and master classes in rare authentic crafts. In particular, openwork weaving, perevit embroidery (white on white), malyavanka (painted carpets on fabric), wood painting, beadwork, and archaic molded ceramics will be presented. About 60 folk craftsmen from all regions of the oblast will share the secrets of their craft.
A presentation of amateur associations of traditional Belarusian cuisine, folklore, and games will also take place. The festival will conclude with a concert by the honored amateur collective of the Republic of Belarus "Sunichki" (Lepel).
The regional festival of historical and cultural values, folklore and rare crafts "Bouquet of Pooserye" is held with the aim of preserving the authentic historical and cultural heritage of the Vitebsk region. The organizers hope that it will become a tradition and plan to hold it annually in different districts of the oblast.
