The Krasnaya Zvezda paper mill almost doubled its exports in the first half of the year

July 6, Minsk / Tatiana Chumakova - BELTA /. OJSC "Paper mill "Krasnaya zvezda" (Chashniki, Vitebsk region) increased its exports by almost 2 times to $1.3 million in January-June of the current year compared to the same period in 2009. This was reported to BELTA correspondent by Deputy Director for Commercial Affairs Maria Karpushonok. According to her, the growth in shipments abroad is due to the appearance of the company's first dealer in Smolensk, as well as the weakening of the global financial and economic crisis. More than 20% of OJSC's products are exported. The paper mill's products are supplied to Russia, Lithuania, and Poland. This year, the "Krasnaya zvezda" mill intends to purchase a screw air compressor worth about Br150 million and put it into operation in the fourth quarter. This will reduce electricity consumption by approximately 10%. In 2011, the enterprise will invest about 7 million euros in the modernization of the paper machine. Thanks to this, the machine's capacity will increase by almost 3 times and will amount to 80 tons of paper per day. As a result, paper production will double, and its quality will improve. In the first half of the year, the enterprise increased its output by 9% compared to the same period last year, to more than Br12 billion. OJSC's finished goods inventories as of July 1 amounted to 28.8% of the average monthly production volume. The company's products are most actively sold in the Vitebsk, Minsk regions, and Minsk. OJSC "Paper mill "Krasnaya zvezda" specializes in the production of paper, cardboard and corrugated cardboard, packaging containers, and water-dispersion paints for exterior and interior work. The factory was transformed into an OJSC in 1996. It is part of the "Bellesbumprom" concern. It has a STB ISO 9001-2001 certificate of conformity.
