An accountant at a Vitebsk enterprise paid herself double salary for a year and a half

March 16, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The deputy chief accountant of one of Vitebsk state-owned enterprises has been paying herself double salary for a year and a half. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes (UBEP) of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. From August 2009 to January 2011, the enterprising young woman, when preparing documents for salary payment, monthly credited from Br1.5 million to Br3 million to her own bank card and the bank card of her mother (a former employee of this enterprise). As a result, the total amount of illegal income amounted to over Br50 million. A criminal case has been initiated against the 36-year-old Vitebsk resident under Part 4 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code of Belarus for embezzlement through abuse of official powers, committed on a particularly large scale. This article provides for up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions. -0-
