The former health resort of OJSC "Vityaz" and the unused educational building of GPTU-57 on B. Khmelnitsky Street in the regional center are planned to be put up for sale this year.
According to Sergey Orekhov, Deputy Head of the Education Department of the Regional Executive Committee, these facilities are included in the regional list of assets for economic circulation in 2016. The documentation for the buildings is currently being finalized, and a decision on the auction date may be made as early as March.
Previously, the social facilities were planned to be used for their intended purpose, but difficulties with financing their reconstruction and modernization have led to adjustments. As Sergey Orekhov noted, in the case of the "Vityaz" resort, the required amount is about 70 billion rubles (estimated in 2014, which is about 6.9 million dollars), mainly for the replacement of all infrastructure (heating system, sewage treatment facilities, etc.). The complex of buildings and structures in the village of Pogrebbenka, Senno District, includes 7 brick residential buildings (capable of accommodating about 600 vacationers per shift), a medical and utility building, a club-canteen with three dining halls and an assembly hall. In total, there are about 100 facilities on the balance sheet.
In the former GPTU-57 building on B. Khmelnitsky Street, the initiated modernization could not be completed; only wooden interfloor ceilings were removed and windows were replaced. Now it is planned to attract an investor through an auction for the entire complex of buildings and
of structures that look dismal against the backdrop of the nearby Victory Square – one of the main venues for festive events in the city and region.
