RZD plans to introduce the first launch complex of modern automatic blocking on the Vitebsk-Polotsk section in April
March 22, Minsk / Olga Belyavskaya - BELTA /. The Belarusian Railway plans to commission the first stage of a modern automatic block system using microprocessor technologies on the Vitebsk-Polotsk section in April. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the Belarusian Railway.
A similar automatic block system was first commissioned last year on the Ksty-Novopolotsk section. "Unlike relay automatic block systems, it is less energy-intensive and has expanded functional capabilities for interval control of train traffic," the press service explained.
On the Vitebsk-Polotsk section, commissioning and adjustment works are being completed within the framework of the first stage of the automatic block system, and construction, installation, and commissioning and adjustment works are underway for the second and third stages. The result of the project implementation will be the complete replacement of outdated automatic block and electric interlocking devices with modern equipment. This will allow for the renewal and modernization of signaling and communication devices on the Vitebsk-Polotsk section, which is one of the busiest sections on the Belarusian Railway.
The interlocking system provides control of switches and signals and is designed to manage train traffic and shunting operations at the station. The implementation of automatic block and electric interlocking devices using microprocessor technologies is one of the priority areas of the Belarusian Railway's work aimed at ensuring the safety of train traffic and improving the efficiency of managing the transportation process.-0-
