The Chashniki and Senno districts of the Vitebsk region suffered as a result of a night thunderstorm

Chashniki and Senno districts of the Vitebsk region suffered from a thunderstorm at night, the press secretary of the Vitebsk regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Marina Fando, told a BELTA correspondent. As a result of heavy rain in the residential sector of Chashniki, basements of 14 houses were flooded. The reason was the storm sewer system, which could not cope with the huge amount of precipitation. The living conditions of the residents of the affected houses are not disrupted. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other city services are involved in eliminating the consequences. There were also incidents in the Senno district, the interlocutor noted. Due to the thunderstorm, two settlements were de-energized here, and in the village of Tsypki, Bogushevsky village council, a haystack containing 60 tons of baled flax had to be extinguished. As a result of the fire, which occurred due to a lightning strike, 2 tons of flax were damaged. -0-
