What will surprise the heroes of the bread field in Gorodok
As reported by Galina Barkevich, chief specialist of the main department of ideological work, culture, and youth affairs of the regional executive committee, the "Dozhinki" festival will begin with a festive procession of agricultural workers. Then, on Lenin Square, the heroes of the grain fields will be awarded. Famous artists will come to congratulate the grain growers. After their performance, the evening sky over Gorodok will be illuminated by thousands of fireworks. The two days of the festival will be remembered by its participants and guests with various events. Memorable events will include exhibitions of agricultural products, artisans, sports competitions, and various tastings.
Among the new projects are the presentation of brands of districts and cities of the region, such as "Zhuraвы і žuravіny" from Miory region, "Malochnyya reki" from Verkhnedvinsk region, "Sunіchnaye padvor'ye" from Liozna region. Other interesting events await participants and guests.
The holiday is not far off, but how is the preparation of facilities for "Dozhinki" progressing? We asked Fyodor Bastov, deputy chairman of the Gorodok District Executive Committee, about this:
— If a month ago Gorodok resembled a continuous construction site, today the outlines of restored, built, and renovated facilities are emerging.
— Lenin Square has been transformed with the renovated "Rodina" cinema, — Fyodor Bastov says. — Today, we are primarily focusing on social facilities — two secondary schools, three kindergartens, a bus station, the "Raubichi" hotel, a sports and recreation complex, an art school, and a water tower. Many of the listed facilities will be commissioned by September 1. We are not forgetting about the major repairs of residential buildings, there are 45 such houses, and we will carry out current repairs on another 36 houses. In total, about two hundred facilities are to be commissioned for "Dozhinki". Today, about two thousand people from one hundred organizations of the district and the region are working in two shifts at many of them. For this purpose, practically all construction organizations of the region, utility workers, landscapers, and others are involved.
