What will Verkhnedvinsk surprise guests of the regional festival-fair "Dazhynki-2018" with?
In a conversation with journalists on the eve of the holiday, he noted that among all the capitals of regional "Dazhynki", Verkhnedvinsk is one of the most successful examples of city transformation due to the joint efforts of architects, builders, and local residents.
– In recent days, I have had the opportunity to visit Verkhnedvinsk several times, – said Vladimir Terentyev. – It is very pleasant to see smiling residents, mothers with strollers, and families simply strolling. The city has not only become younger but has also opened centuries-old pages of its history.
More than 200 facilities have been built and reconstructed for "Dazhynki". One of the landmark projects is the "Impuls" sports complex with a swimming pool and a gym, equipped with modern equipment. The House of Culture has been significantly transformed and can now rightfully be called a Palace.
Secondary school No. 2 and a kindergarten have been put in order, and tens of kilometers of streets have been reconstructed. Much has been done for the thermal renovation of residential buildings and roof replacement. A 12-apartment building has been wonderfully integrated into the ambiance of the central city square; keys will be handed over to the new residents on the day of the holiday.
The "Dazhynki" program is diverse and interesting. Interactive zones of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Automobile Inspectorate, and the Belarusian Republican Youth Union have been prepared for children and youth. The "Water Spectacle" by rescuers, which will take place on water, land, and in the air, will be a surprise. Demonstrations will be presented by soldiers of the 103rd Guards Mobile Brigade. Among the numerous sports events is the regional championship in Russian barbell pressing.
Due to the fact that the Verkhnedvinsk district is located at the junction of three countries, ethnographic courtyards of Belarus, Russia, and Latvia have been created. They will present the unique culture of the border regions and national cuisine.
Organizers assure that visiting the courtyards will be not only educational but also delicious. Verkhnedvinsk positions itself as the cheese capital of Belarus, so local artisans are preparing surprises for gourmets. In total, several dozen public catering and trade outlets will open on the streets of the festive city.
The concert program will feature creative groups from all regions of Vitebsk Oblast. Stars of Belarusian pop music will also perform.
Hundreds of employees from the Internal Affairs Directorate, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Housing and Communal Services, and healthcare institutions are involved in ensuring the high level of safety for the event.
Vladimir Terentyev emphasized that all guests who visit Verkhnedvinsk on September 28 will discover the city from a different perspective.
