What will surprise residents and guests of Vitebsk during the Days of Culture of the Novosibirsk Region in the Republic of Belarus
One and a half tons of decorations for the performance, an orchestra of 20 virtuoso musicians, without a conductor. What else will surprise the residents and guests of the northern capital during the Days of Culture of the Novosibirsk Region in the Republic of Belarus? Vladimir Barbariko, the artistic director of the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic, spoke about this.
The large-scale event will be held in three cities – Minsk, Brest, and Vitebsk. The northern capital was chosen by the Novosibirsk residents not by chance; Ivan Sollertinsky, an outstanding musicologist of the 20th century and artistic director of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, who was evacuated to Novosibirsk during the war and lived his last years there, was born here.
“We have been cooperating closely with Moscow and St. Petersburg, and other Russian cities, for a long time, but we only started establishing close relations with Novosibirsk last year,” noted Vladimir Barbariko. “We are very pleased that the desire for unity of the two fraternal peoples is so great that our colleagues from the north of Russia will overcome a very long distance to present their unique programs to us.”
On May 24, at 7 p.m., the ensemble of soloists "Novosibirsk Camerata" of the Novosibirsk State Philharmonic – a unique string orchestra of 20 virtuoso musicians performing without a conductor – will present the concert program "Concertogrosso – Connection of Times" to the Vitebsk public. The musicians will perform works not only by famous composers such as Antonio Vivaldi, Luigi Boccherini, and Charles Gounod, but also by the Siberian composer Sergey Kravtsov, who composed several classical pieces based on the themes of the band The Beatles.
On May 26, at 6 p.m., a grand concert by the State Academic Siberian Russian Folk Choir will take place. In the first part, the ensemble will present the program "Tribute to Feat," expressing gratitude to the Fatherland's defenders who participated in the battles for the liberation of a fraternal people. In the second part, at the request of Belarusian colleagues, the ensemble will perform the program "Siberian Freedom." This is a unique cross-section of the cultural traditions of the Siberian Cossacks, an author's interpretation of the influence of the traditional culture of the peoples of Siberia on the formation and development of Cossackdom.
