What surprises tourists in the Glubokoye region

Saving Lives Together
The Kabush family of doctors is well-known in Glubokoye. This close-knit dynasty is the pride of the region. Alexey Leonidovich heads the surgical department of the central district hospital, and Natalia Georgievna heads the therapy department. Their daughter, Daria, is a third-year student at the Vitebsk Medical University. She dreams of surgery, shares the proud father:— How do I feel about her choice? Very calmly. I guarantee it will be difficult, but interesting.
Alexey and Natalia Kabush.Alexey Kabush was drawn to medicine by his grandmother's dream. A native of the Dubrovensky district, she studied for a year at the Minsk Medical Institute, and then the war came. "Later, she met my grandfather," recalls the surgeon. "She became an excellent physics and mathematics teacher, but the question 'what if...' remained in her memory forever. My grandmother lived to see me enroll. She was also a herbalist and taught me to understand the 'green pharmacy' from childhood."
Natalia Georgievna's dynasty began with her grandfather – a paramedic Alexey Kotova. A participant of the Great Patriotic War, he was severely wounded during the liberation of Poland and... bandaged his own open pneumothorax. Natalia Kabush continues:
— In 1946, my grandfather came to Luzhki, Sharkovshchyna district. He was, in fact, a country doctor there: a therapist, an obstetrician, in short, a general practitioner. My parents are also doctors. My father is a therapist, my mother is a pediatrician, and she headed the Glubokoye Central District Hospital for a long time. My paternal aunt worked as an ambulance paramedic in Murmansk, and her daughter is an ultrasound diagnostician... And her husband is a surgeon.
When I'm asked how I feel about dynasties in our field, I always answer: positively, how else. Yes, calling can hardly be inherited, but respect and love for the profession can. As well as the understanding that a patient is entitled to treatment not only with medications but also with kind words. A heartfelt approach is important! This is me speaking as a cardiologist. The Kabush family loves the Glubokoye district primarily for its atmosphere and well-kept appearance. It's a place you always want to return to, admits Alexey Leonidovich:
— And it's even better to stay home — our Belarusian beauties delight and energize us in any season. Glubokoye, which is now being further transformed for "Dozhinki," has everything you need for a comfortable and peaceful life, including developed medicine. Our hospital is equipped with the most modern equipment. Among the recent important events is the opening of a computed tomography room.
Plays with all his heart
In the hands of 25-year-old Tatyana Mikolaychuk is a special instrument, not just an accordion – a family heirloom. This cherry-colored "Etude" was won by the teacher of the Glubokoye Children's Art School at the competition of accordionists, bayanists, and accordionists "Cherry Melodies." Tatyana participated in it twice. In 2017, she won the Grand Prix, captivating the jury with her virtuosic performance of a Hungarian czardas. It was the first time a woman won the main prize. Emotions were overwhelming, recalls the heroine:— Surprise, delight, that here it is – victory! This year I want to play at our main festival again, but not for grades – for my soul. It's unlikely I'll win a second instrument, but it's not about that.and in music.
Tatyana Mikolaychuk with her husband Maxim and son Pavel.Even without appearing on stage, Tatyana Mikolaychuk managed to become a star of the "Cherry Festival - 2019". In the midst of the festive week, she gave birth to her first child, whom she and her husband Maxim named Pavel. In Glubokoye, the baby was christened in their own way: a "cherry boy". In July, this cute fidget will be three years old.
— Do you want to play together someday? — I ask.
Tatyana doesn't look too far ahead:
— Time will tell. Recently, I returned to work part-time. Pasha sees me rehearsing before performances, comes up, hugs my legs, and dances along. So he definitely likes music.
Mikolaychuk herself first took up the bayan at the age of seven. She asked her mother to enroll her in music school, and then found out that there was an instrument at home. It turned out that her grandfather and father had played it once.
— I try to reveal all the possibilities of the bayan, to show the flight of fingers, the beauty and character of the melody. I like to play "Chistye Prudy" by Talkov. And the highest skill I strive for is "The Flight of the Bumblebee". In my classes, I first and foremost teach children to love and feel music. With this approach, any melody is within reach, — Tatyana is sure.
Tatyana has two diplomas — from the Novopolotsk Music College and Vitebsk State University named after P. M. Masherov. She graduated from the university when little Pavlik was one year old. They traveled to the final exams as a whole family.— My husband, a sound engineer at the House of Culture, supports me in everything. He is a graduate of the same music college as I am, — Mikolaychuk notes.
The talented creative couple met when Tatyana joined the vocal group "Glubokye Devchata" and have been inseparable ever since.
Boils "White Gold"
Olga Telitsa has one of the sweetest professions. She is an evaporation operator at the Glubokoye Dairy and Canning Plant. She boils the very condensed milk that is known and loved throughout Belarus and beyond. This is not just a productit, says Olga Alexandrovna, is our "white gold":— I don't have a sweet tooth, I try to watch my figure, but I would never refuse Glubokoe condensed milk! For me, it's a taste from childhood.
Olga Telitsa. The mother of our heroine, Tatyana Gennadievna, also worked at this enterprise all her life. Olga herself came to MKC right after school. And she stayed. The evaporation operator condenses the milk and sugar mixture – a responsible and difficult job. It is necessary to strictly monitor the technological process so that the product, after passing through the vacuum apparatus, acquires the correct consistency. Olga Alexandrovna works in tandem with the pasteurization operator. In a 12-hour shift, together they can produce up to 30 tons of their favorite treat. By the way, the production capacity of the cannery allows processing up to 270 tons of milk per day. The output is 290,000 cans!
Glubokoe produces more than 20 types of condensed milk. Local marketers have launched an unusual internet project: a toy can of condensed milk from Glubokoe travels around the world. You can track its route on social networks.— For example, recently, representatives of the combine visited a business forum in Azerbaijan, — Olga says. — Our little can also shared its impressions of the trip. It looks cute and heartwarming.
Telitsa calls herself a patriot of her native enterprise. She admits that she is no less, and perhaps even more, happy about its successes than her own. She also has achievements: for her excellent work, she was included in the Glubokoe MKC Honor Board.
A can of condensed milk is the best landmark and souvenir, Olga jokes:
— My son is studying at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. When his classmates heard that he was from Glubokoe, they immediately remembered: "So this is where they make condensed milk!" We present our signature sweetness to relatives and friends, no family tea party is complete without it. My husband and son prefer the classic, I prefer it with coffee, cocoa, chicory flavors. Well, and condensed milk with a cherry flavor, created especially in honor of our brand festival, is for allin the sense of the cherry on top.
Raising Grandmasters
A civil engineer by diploma, and now an additional education teacher at the Glubokoye Center for Children and Youth, Vasily Sinkevich turned his life 180 degrees. He left the construction industry for chess. Since 2010, he has been teaching the "royal game" to young residents of the district center. Under his guidance, about 300 children, starting from four years old, are mastering the intricacies of one of the oldest logical games. They sometimes learn to distinguish a queen from a rook before they learn to read and write, Sinkevich laughs:— I have 150 students of preschool age. Of course, not all of them will become grandmasters, but that's not the point. It is much more important that they grow up to be good, smart, thinking people.
Vasily Sinkevich with his students. If only you could see the joy with which children rush to his classes! What can chess give them? In fact, a lot. It boosts intellect, develops patience, endurance, and the ability to calculate situations several moves ahead... These skills will always be useful, the enthusiast is confident:
— The children I train play for enjoyment. Some grasp everything quickly, while others are interested in the process itself, in communication. I strive to find the right approach for each child, to reveal their talent. There are former students who are already studying in other cities, and when they come home to Glubokoye, they hurry to play out of old habit. New champions are also a joy. This year, Kristina Chicherova and Matvey Ragun brought home the "Victory" from the Vitebsk region chess championship.Vasily Sinkevich first placed the pieces on the board in the fifth grade, following his cousins. And then, under the careful guidance of his teacher Oleg Lukyanenko. In the 10th grade, he achieved the first chess rank at an international tournament in Smolensk. Did he ever think he would be coaching others one day?
— My hobby became my life's work quite naturally, as if by itself. I simply realized one day that being a foreman or an engineer is good, but being happy is better. Chess – and it's a whole world – gives me exactly that.that feeling.
His relatives were initially wary of his decision, but now they support him. His daughter Anya and son Alexander, who chose the legal profession, also play. "There are domestic battles too," shares Vasily Sinkevich. And he wisely notes a true rule for all occasions: even a pawn can become a queen, the main thing is not to give up.
Conquering the Agro-Element
For almost a quarter of a century, Tatyana Luksha, the chief agronomist of the agricultural enterprise "Konstantinov Dvor," has been taking care of the harvests. She does not regret a single day in her profession. "Are there agronomists who don't love the land? I don't know any," says Tatyana Petrovna, meeting us in the Medvedki tract among the green winter rye.— I came to "Konstantinov Dvor" at the age of 24, right after maternity leave. I learned all the intricacies of field science from the former head of the farm, V. A. Ason, who is unfortunately no longer with us, and the foreman K. F. Tatun. The field is a special agro-element that you conquer from season to season.
Tatyana Luksha. Our heroine is a native of the Kaliningrad region. She graduated from the Gusev Agricultural Technical School. Meeting her future husband Ivan, who has roots in Glubokoye, changed her destiny and geography. He is also an agronomist, notes Tatyana Petrovna:
— My parents have a peasant background, my mother is a livestock breeder, my father is a mechanic, so the profession seemed destined for me. And I have always liked the village way of life, a slow, thoughtful lifestyle since childhood. Now my husband, daughter, and I live in Derkovshchina. Katya has transferred to the seventh grade of the local school. My son Artem graduated from Polotsk State University.
Despite the fact that in summer the agronomist's working day often starts with the sun, Tatyana Luksha manages to cope with household chores. Milking the motley cow Nochka, tending a large vegetable garden, and an orchard. The latter is more the prerogative of the head of the family, the woman smiles:
— He laid it out about five years ago, and now he takes care of it as if it were his own. There are different trees, mainly apple trees, and of course, cherry trees. It is difficult to imagine our region without them. Vr
Whether anyone has compiled statistics, but in spring it seems that all Glubokoye drowns in a white-pink bloom. And the ripe, fragrant berry is our delicious calling card.
Without painstaking work and respect for the land, there is nothing to do in our field. Believe me, the field still inspires me.
The experienced agronomist is proud of the successes of "Konstantinov Dvor". Last year, corn pleased with its harvest. This year, 730 hectares have been allocated for the queen of the fields in the farm - 130 more than a year ago. We are counting on the result, shares the heroine:
— In 2021, we used a new technological method for ourselves - crimping. A mobile unit right in the field turned corn grain into excellent protein-rich feed. We will definitely repeat this useful experience.
Tatsiana Luksha also has a culture dearest to her heart - flax. She first saw the northern silk in Belarus. Flowering flax amazed her to tears: the sky-blue fields reminded her of her native Baltic Sea.
