Black kite and Argentine boa constrictor are settling in at the Vitebsk Zoo

August 2, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The Vitebsk Zoo has been replenished with rare animals, its director Alexei Andreykov told a BELTA correspondent. A call from residents of the Oktyabrsky settlement near Vitebsk turned out to be a stroke of luck for the zoo. For three days, the local population fed a very young, but already feathered dark chick with fish and meat. As it turned out, their temporary guest was a black kite, which is quite rare for Belarus. Currently, its population in the country is about 200 pairs. As Alexei Andreykov noted, the chick might have lived with someone, as it is not afraid of people at all. Now the winged predator, which is listed in the Red Book of Belarus, is settling into its new habitat at the zoo. Another exotic pet for the zoo is an Argentine boa constrictor, purchased from a private collector. The one-and-a-half-meter snake has been provided with separate accommodation. -0-
