A Czech investor plans to build a porous brick production plant in the Vitebsk region
December 1, Vitebsk / Sergei Kotovets - BELTA /. A Czech investor is showing interest in implementing a large-scale project in the Vitebsk region to organize the production of porous ceramic bricks. This was announced today by Konstantin Cherny, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Economy Committee, at a meeting with a delegation of Czech businessmen, according to a BELTA correspondent.
The Chashniksky district is being considered as the potential construction site for the enterprise, where there is a large deposit of high-quality clay. Negotiations with the investor are currently underway. The preliminary cost of the project is estimated at around 46 million euros.
In total, about 200 clay deposits suitable for ceramic production and the manufacture of building materials have been identified in the region. Total industrial reserves are estimated at 70 million cubic meters, with an annual extraction of 1 million cubic meters.
In addition, the Vitebsk region is interested in attracting investors for projects involving the use of flax, rapeseed, wood, and a number of other raw materials. For example, dolomite deposits in the region are estimated at 766.3 million tons. The region is most interested in attracting modern technologies for organizing the production of building materials from dolomite. The presence of over 3.4 thousand peat deposits explored in the region makes projects for the production of peat pellets, peat briquettes, and peat mixtures with various mineral additives, as well as the use of peat as biostimulants, medicinal products, and household chemicals, a priority area for investment cooperation. "We are interested in the deep complex processing of raw materials and hope for understanding from investors that only the production of a final high-tech product can provide competitive advantages and business success today," noted Konstantin Cherny.
During the one-day visit, the Czech delegation took part in a business meeting with representatives of the Vitebsk region's business community. The delegation of the Czech Republic included heads of banking and insurance structures, and enterprises specializing in the energy, construction, and chemical sectors. -0-
