Over the years of the formation of Belarusian statehood, a new type of business woman has emerged in society, actively mastering the spheres of management and business. Working women in all sectors of the region's national economy multiply the well-being of the country and their work collectives through conscientious labor. They are close to public interests and set an example in raising the younger generation. More than 120 of them are laureates of the regional competition "Person of the Year of the Vitebsk Region," and over 250 are laureates of the "Woman of the Year of the Vitebsk Region" award.

In the Vitebsk region, 525 women have been awarded the Order of Motherhood, and 267 were awarded the prize named after the Hero of the Soviet Union, Zinaida Tusnolobova-Marchenko from Polotsk.
The authorities are doing everything possible to ensure favorable conditions for the life, work, and rest of working women and mothers, and to strengthen their status in society in every way, stated Alexander Kosinets. Much is being done for the socio-economic development of the regions, settlements are being improved, social and cultural facilities are being built, the work of transport, healthcare, education, trade, and culture institutions is improving, and new opportunities for active recreation and entertainment are emerging.
