A quarter of civil litigation cases in the courts of the Vitebsk region concern divorce
August 22, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo – BELTA/. Approximately every fourth civil case considered by courts in the Vitebsk region in the course of litigation is a divorce case, the Vitebsk Regional Court informed a BELTA correspondent.
In the first half of the current year, the region's courts considered over 20 thousand civil cases with decisions, half of which were in the course of litigation. Almost 24% of such cases are divorce cases, about 6% of cases concern labor disputes, and slightly more than 5% concern housing disputes. Moreover, every fifth of the latter is an eviction without providing other housing. Recently, courts have noted an increase in cases of recovery of citizens' debts to banks, as well as debts for housing and communal services. As the Regional Court believes, transferring undisputed cases, such as debt recovery cases, to the notary's consideration will reduce the workload on judges and positively affect the efficiency of justice.
In the special proceedings, the region's courts considered slightly more than 8%, in the order proceedings – almost 41%. As noted in the Regional Court, compared to the same period last year, the number of cases considered in the course of litigation increased by 8.7%, the number of special proceedings decreased by almost 3%, and order proceedings decreased by more than 12%. -0-
