The fourth family-type children's home in the Vitebsk region will be commissioned by November
The fourth family-type children's home will be commissioned in the Vitebsk region by November this year, the education, sports and tourism department of the local district executive committee reported.
"The Vitebsk region was one of the first in the region to start implementing this form of placement for children left without parental care. And the fact that we will soon open the fourth family-type children's home is great progress for such a small region," the district executive committee emphasized. Br1 billion was allocated from the district budget for the construction of a cottage in the agro-town of Mazolovo in 2014 and 2015. And approximately the same amount was provided as sponsorship from banks, which began to arrive in 2012.
As of today, construction work has been completed, only the interior furnishing of the rooms and landscaping of the territory remain to be finished. This will require about another Br340 million. The education department continues to select the most suitable family for resettlement. Most likely, the cottage will be occupied by a foster family that has already been raising 5 or more children for some time. Currently, 23 children live in the existing family-type children's homes. 19 foster families have been created, raising 37 children, and 42 guardianship families, where 48 children have found shelter and parental care.
