Fourth degree of fire hazard introduced in 14 districts of Vitebsk region

August 10, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A fourth-class fire hazard has been introduced in 14 out of 21 districts of the Vitebsk region, the Vitebsk Production Forestry Association (VPFLA) informed a BELTA correspondent. Due to abnormal heat and lack of rain, there is a high probability of fires in the eastern districts of the region. A ban on visiting forests has already been introduced in seven of them: Vitebsk, Polotsk, Senno, Tolochin, Liozno, Dubrovno, and Orsha. The situation in the latter two districts is complicated by fires in the Rudnyansky forestry and Krasnyansky timber enterprise of the Smolensk region, the foci of which are located 30 km and 10-13 km, respectively, from the Belarusian-Russian border. However, as noted by the association, they do not pose a threat to the Belarusian territory, and the fire outbreaks have already been localized. In general, the situation with forest fires in the Vitebsk region is complex but under control, the VPFLA emphasized. All emerging fire outbreaks are promptly extinguished by forest protection employees. There has been no need to involve rescuers for these purposes so far. -0-
