Four crews in the Vitebsk region have surpassed the milestone of threshing 1.5 thousand tons of grain

Four combine harvester crews in the Vitebsk region have surpassed the milestone of threshing 1.5 thousand tons of grain, and another 51 crews have threshed over 1 thousand tons. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the regional committee of the agro-industrial complex workers' trade union.

The most significant threshing result is demonstrated by combine operator Vladimir Lapkovsky from OJSC "Prudinki" of the Verkhnedvinsk district. As of August 12, he has put 1,871 tons of grain into granaries, having mowed over 430 hectares with a New Holland. Anatoly Zhilinsky from the Lepel Variety Testing Station is second in threshing. Working on a KZS-1218, the Lepel combine operator mowed 358 hectares and threshed 1,820 tons. Only heavy rains that occurred over the region during the week and suspended harvesting operations prevented the leaders from threshing over 2 thousand tons this week.

The largest number of thousand-ton crews are working in the fields of the Vitebsk (12 crews) and Verkhnedvinsk (11) districts. Among the youth crews, combine operators Sergey Gapanovich and Alexey Pilyushin from OJSC "Prudinki" of the Verkhnedvinsk district, who threshed almost 1.4 thousand tons on a KZS-1218, are maintaining their leading positions. They are followed by the crew of brothers Alexander and Dmitry Zyabko from the agricultural enterprise "CHashnikskoye" of the same-named district, with a threshing volume of about 1.3 thousand tons.

Alexander Batyan from OJSC "Yakubovo-Agro" of the Dubrovno district has the best result in hauling grain from combine harvesters. Working on a MAZ-555, he transported 3.2 thousand tons of grain to processing sites. Nikolay Vyatokha from OJSC "Ivansky-Agro" of the Chashniksky district, a leader in the competition among young drivers, is slightly behind him, having transported about 2.6 thousand tons of grain on a MAZ-555.

As of August 12, a total of about 307.8 thousand hectares of grain crops have been mowed in the region, which is almost 70% of the areas to be harvested. 977.3 thousand tons have been threshed with an average yield of 31.8 centners per hectare, which is 11.8 centners per hectare higher than the corresponding figure for 2010. The highest yield of 62 centners per hectare is obtained in SPC "Larinovka" of the Orsha district. The second highest yield is in SPC "Kolkhoz 'Olgovskoye'" of the Vitebsk district, where 57.4 centners of grain are harvested per hectare.

Under the state order, the region's farms have delivered about 146.1 thousand tons of grain, which is about 78.6% of the plan. Flax has been pulled on an area of almost 14.1 thousand hectares, or about 78% of the plan.

Winter rapeseed crops for the 2012 harvest occupy about 25 thousand hectares, which is almost 50% of the planned sowing area for this crop.-0-
