Vitebsk region will present four projects at the Belarusian Investment Forum in Moscow
Vitebsk region will present projects in the fields of health tourism, education, ecology, and sports at the Belarusian Investment Forum in Moscow, which will be held on November 23, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Economy Committee reported.
Three out of four projects are geographically related to Polotsk. The construction of a kindergarten for 230 places and a karting track is planned in the oldest city of Belarus, and local treatment facilities will be built at JSC "Polotsk Dairy Plant". Another project concerns health tourism and involves the creation of a health resort center based on a complex of unused buildings in the agro-town of Slobodka, Braslav district. The projects have been prepared by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee jointly with the National Agency of Investment and Privatization and are feasible for implementation using the public-private partnership mechanism.
"Special attention is paid to the implementation of projects through public-private partnership mechanisms. For the state, this is an opportunity to attract additional financial resources and develop priority projects that have social, political, or economic significance," the committee explained. "By controlling and acting as a guarantor of reliability, the state can minimize financial participation in the project. Today, given the close cooperation, the Vitebsk region is interested in implementing joint projects with the Russian Federation."
At the forum, Veronika Zaboluyeva, Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, will participate in the section "Investment Opportunities of PPP in Belarus. Private Initiative." The presentation of projects of the northern region of the country will be held for representatives of private business, banks, and experts.
The effective use of FEZ production sites for the implementation of investment and import substitution projects with the application of tax and customs preferences will be discussed during the session "Territories with preferential regimes of the Union State". The administration of the "Vitebsk" Free Economic Zone plans to participate in this block.
