Four districts of the Vitebsk region are completing the grain harvest

August 9, Vitebsk / Sergei Kochetov - BELTA /. Farms in four districts of the Vitebsk region are completing the grain harvest, the Agriculture and Food Committee of the regional executive committee informed a BELTA correspondent. Among the leaders of the harvest is the Liozno district, where 96.5% of the grain acreage has been mowed. The district's farms have threshed more than 34.6 thousand tons of grain with an average yield of 21.5 centners per hectare. If the pace of the harvest is maintained, the main work in the district's fields will be completed within one day, specialists noted. In addition, among the leaders are the Orsha, Dubrovno and Senno districts. Less than 10% of the areas remain to be harvested, and farms are capable of doing this within the next two to three days. In terms of threshed grain, the Orsha district demonstrates the greatest result, having closely approached the 100,000-ton mark. According to data as of August 9, more than 370 thousand hectares, or 82.3%, have been mowed across the region. Almost 764 thousand tons of grain have been threshed, with an average yield of 20.6 centners per hectare. The grain and pulse harvest is planned to be completed by the end of the current week, after which it is planned to begin harvesting corn for silage. About 81 thousand hectares in the region are occupied by corn crops. -0-
