A four-year-old child was injured by fire during a picnic on a lake in the Chashniki district, the Vitebsk Regional Emergency Situations Department informed a BELTA correspondent. The boy with burns to his face, neck, right arm, and torso was taken to the Novolukoml Central District Hospital by his parents on Sunday evening. According to them, the family was making a fire while relaxing on Lake Lukomlskoye. The child was under supervision, but as soon as his mother turned away for a moment, the child ended up in the fire. As the chief physician of the Novolukoml Central District Hospital, Nikolai Pinchuk, told a BELTA correspondent, 15% of the child's body surface was affected, and he received second-third degree burns. The child's condition is serious but stable. He is currently in intensive care, and intensive therapy is being carried out. Doctors are currently unable to say how long the child will remain in the hospital. -0-
