Officials should not hide from people with bureaucratic language - Valery Mitskevich

August 24, Chashniki / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. "People should be communicated with normally, not shut down with bureaucratic language," said Valery Mitskevich, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, at a personal reception of citizens in Chashniki today. Despite the fact that the reception of citizens was announced until 2 p.m., it ended much later. Eighteen people, without prior appointment, came to the Deputy Head of the Administration with various issues: from poorly repaired housing to allegedly unlawful refusals to initiate criminal proceedings and the opening of a service station in the district. Everyone was able to talk about their problem. Some received a competent answer immediately, while others' questions required more detailed examination and involvement of other authorities for their resolution. All raised issues have been taken under the control of the Deputy Head of the Administration. According to Valery Mitskevich, most of the problems could have been resolved without resorting to higher authorities if local officials and law enforcement agencies knew how to communicate with people. "Is it really that difficult to explain things to a person normally and answer all their questions? Sometimes it seems that the further away from the capital, the busier an official is," he added. The third stage of monitoring the work of local authorities with the population is ongoing in the Vitebsk region. A working group of the Presidential Administration is working in the Postavy and Glubokoye districts. Activists of the regional branch of the public association "Belaya Rus" have also decided to join this work; they will hold receptions in the Ushachi and Miory districts. -0-
