Officials of the Sennensky district foster an active life position by personal example

At the same time, following the recommendation of the famous paraphrased aphorism of Mahatma Gandhi, "If you want to change the world, change yourself," they began to develop a new character trait in the residents of Senno region by starting with themselves, Sergey Metelitsa, head of the ideological work department of the Senno District Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent. Since January of this year, heads of various departments of the district executive committee, law enforcement agencies, and the district emergency situations department have been holding monthly operational meetings with employees of various services who, by their nature of work, most frequently interact with local residents. In January, such a meeting was held with postmen and deputies of village councils, and in February, with employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. On March 23, officials will meet with medical personnel responding to emergency calls "103". The main topic of such events are the pressing issues identified among the population: employees tell officials about them, and officials record them within their areas of responsibility to resolve them later. Moreover, during the meetings, alarming calls are quite regularly received by the phone numbers of duty services or responsible persons of the relevant departments. "For example, a case of domestic violence was noticed somewhere, a broken water heater, a dilapidated stove heating system. Problems that seem insignificant on a global scale sometimes become a real disaster for people. The position of non-interference or distrust of local authorities often hinders their prompt resolution. This new form of work has allowed for a more mobile response and resolution of such issues, and has created effective feedback," the source noted. The active stance of Senno officials has become the best example for all local residents: the number of calls received from them to the hotlines of the District Department of Internal Affairs, the District Department of Emergency Situations, and the district utility service has significantly increased in recent months. "Such an attitude towards life will allow interaction between people and officials to reach a completely new level, and will also be a catalyst for the development of the region," Sergey Metelitsa is confident. -0-
