The number of taxpayers under the simplified tax system in the Vitebsk region has almost tripled

Almost 10,000 taxpayers in the Vitebsk region have started applying the simplified taxation system since January 1, the press service of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Inspectorate for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent. Compared to the beginning of 2009, their number has increased almost threefold. Taxpayers' interest in switching to a simplified tax reporting procedure is constantly increasing due to the improvement of the procedure and conditions for switching to such a system. Thus, if at the beginning of 2009 about 3.8 thousand taxpayers applied the simplified system, then by December their number had grown to more than 8 thousand, including about 4 thousand legal entities. In addition, Decree No. 592 of December 7, 2009 "On Amendments and Additions to Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 119 of March 9, 2007" further contributed to the growth in popularity of the adopted innovations among economic entities. Thanks to the extension of the deadline for submitting applications to switch to the simplified taxation system, taxpayers were able to start the new year working under new tax reporting rules. About 1.8 thousand more taxpayers, including over 1.4 thousand individual entrepreneurs, opted for this system. In 2009, taxpayers of the Vitebsk region who applied the simplified taxation system paid Br98.3 billion to the budget, which is 22% more than the amount of payments from this category in 2008. Of the total amount of revenue, enterprises and organizations account for about 85%. -0-
