Wonders under the microscope and paintings for the blind are presented at an exhibition in Vitebsk

July 7, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Wonders under a microscope and paintings for the blind are presented at the exhibition "Russian Lefty", which opened today at the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, the cultural institution informed a BELTA correspondent. The exhibition of microminiatures features 23 works by the Russian craftsman Vladimir Aniskin. Among them are the classics of the genre - a shod flea, camels in a needle's eye, inscriptions on a grain of rice and a human hair, Cheburashka and Crocodile Gena on a poppy seed. To see all these wonders, museum visitors will have to use a microscope. According to the author, who is a senior researcher at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics in the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok, working on microminiatures has been his favorite hobby for over ten years. Each of them is created by hand, however, unlike the famous Lefty from Tula from Nikolai Leskov's story, it is still done with the help of a microscope. Depending on the complexity, it takes from a week to six months to create one exhibit. Even more time, sometimes several years, is spent searching for technology to implement an idea, because the master makes all the necessary working tools and machines himself, each of which fits in the palm of his hand. Currently, Vladimir Aniskin has created about 100 microminiatures. Some of them are already kept in private collections. However, most of the works are in the exhibition of the "Russian Lefty" museum in the Peter and Paul Fortress (St. Petersburg), which the master is currently replenishing. An unusual acquaintance with microminiatures will continue for lovers of original works with an equally fascinating exploration of paintings for the blind by artist Vitaly Kasatkin. The works of this master are created using the original technique of "relief painting", where the details of the composition are rendered with a special tool that creates a thin relief thread. Seeing textured sunflowers, a lilac bouquet, irises, wildflowers, the embankment of St. Petersburg, the Black Sea road, and a lighthouse in Odessa is more interesting not so much with the eyes as with the hands. Tactile perception of the paintings will give viewers a whole range of new impressions. -0-
