COVID-2019: The outpatient clinic network in Vitebsk has been switched to an enhanced operating mode

According to the Ministry of Health, as of October 7, 75,683 patients (plus 307 in the last 24 hours) with a previously confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis have recovered and been discharged in Belarus. 81,505 people have tested positive, including 415 new cases in the last 24 hours. Throughout the entire period of the spread of infection in the country, 874 patients (plus six in the last 24 hours) with detected coronavirus infection have died.

In connection with the increase in infectious respiratory diseases, since October 1, the outpatient clinic network in Vitebsk has been switched to an enhanced operating mode: infectious disease rooms are functioning in full, and separate appointments are held for patients with elevated temperatures. The provision of planned care in clinics has not been suspended, but limiting non-mandatory and non-emergency visits is advisable. In addition to the regional infectious disease hospital, repurposed departments of the emergency medical care hospital with 150 beds have been connected for inpatient treatment of coronavirus pneumonia in Vitebsk.

The Ministry of Health has also amended Resolution No. 36 of April 10, 2020, according to which first-level contacts for COVID-19 are now considered those who have had close contact with a person infected with coronavirus infection within 4 days before and 10 days after the onset of symptoms. They also include those who have had contact with a person with asymptomatic infection within 4 days before and 10 days after the date of sample collection for COVID-19 testing.

Medical professionals strongly recommend that each of us observe preventive measures.
