A charity ball in support of animals will be held in Vitebsk
On October 5 at 6 p.m., a charity ball in the 19th-century style will be held at the cultural and historical complex "Golden Ring of Vitebsk "Dvina". All proceeds from ticket sales and donated items (canned goods, food, bedding, etc.) will be transferred to the city's animal shelter. A ticket to the ball costs 20,000 rubles.
The Vitebsk animal shelter was opened on August 16, 2011, and exists thanks to the enthusiasm of the institution's head, Natalia Zubova, shelter staff, and volunteers. Today, the shelter is going through difficult times. This is due to insufficient funding, a large number of animals, and citizens' tendency to abandon animals at the shelter rather than adopt them.
This ball marks the beginning of the 2013-2014 season in Vitebsk, where similar events have become traditional thanks to the historical reconstruction club "Northern Tower" and its coordinators Eli Petrachenka and Khrystina Bondareva. The ball will consist of two parts: a waltz and a contradanse. Works by contemporary composers and 19th-century authors will be performed live.
