Live presidential candidate debates will allow voters to objectively assess their level

November 18, Novopolotsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Live debates of the candidates for President of the Republic of Belarus will allow voters to objectively assess their level. This point of view was expressed to a BELTA correspondent by the Minister of Information Oleg Proleskovsky, who received citizens at the public reception of the Novopolotsk city organization of the public association "Belaya Rus". As Oleg Proleskovsky believes, the best option for the candidates themselves would be to record their televised debates. "I am sure that the presidential candidates should have agreed to recorded discussions. The camera is a dangerous tool. Not everyone holds up well in front of it. I also get flustered in front of the camera," the minister admitted. The Central Election Commission met the persistent proposal of one of the candidates halfway. "If they want to, let them. Let the whole country see their level. This is not a conversation in a friendly atmosphere, it is a dispute, a debate. I think it will be a rating program," Oleg Proleskovsky concluded. In general, assessing the media's coverage of the election campaign, the minister noted: "There is enough information about the elections in newspapers, on television, and on the Internet. Any citizen can get it." -0-
